Job Description

Princeton Dermatology Associates (PDA) is a leading dermatology and dermatologic surgery practice with several offices in Central New Jersey. We seek to hire a full time, experienced, MOHS Medical Assistant to work primarily out of our Princeton office, but will have to work out of our other two MOHS locations at times (in North Brunswick and Monroe Township). Medical Assistants (as well as or Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses) with several years of prior experience assisting in MOHS Surgery in a busy dermatologic surgery practice are welcomed to apply. Princeton Dermatology Associates:
PDA is committed to providing complete medical and cosmetic skin care for our patients. Our single specialty dermatology practice provides medical care treating all types of skin conditions and problems. We provide skin cancer detection and treatment. We also offer highly specialized surgical services including Mohs Micrographic Surgery, laser treatments, and cosmetic facial treatments. QUALIFICATIONS
Should have a thorough working knowledge and several years of experience with MOHS Surgery. Should have a thorough working knowledge of surgical and aseptic technique. Preferred experience in an outpatient Medical Dermatology office setting. Good knowledge and prior work experience with an electronic EMR (preferably E.M.A. by Modernizing Medicine) highly desirable. If an RN or LPN, you must have an active license in good standing in the state of New Jersey.

Must be BLS and CPR certified
RESPONSIBILITIES
include but not limited to: Record accurate office visit notes, complications, incidents, timely documentation of counts, etc. Assure patient exam rooms are properly cleaned and that appropriate supplies and equipment are available in each room. Prepare instrument trays and supplies in sterile and non-sterile setting. Prepare lidocaine syringes for the session. Escort patient's into exam room and assist onto exam tables. Take patient history, including vital signs when necessary, make complete and accurate chart notes in EHR. Provide assistance to physician during MOHS surgeries, as requested within you scope of license. Assist with application of all dressings. Prepare and record all biopsies/cultures to labs upon diagnosis, document in log, advise physician, and patient if noted by physician. Prepare and record medications and samples dispenses, prescriptions prepared, and patent educational information disseminated to patient. Notate in chart note. Report to the lead or clinical supervisor any equipment failure, parts found or broken, breaks in technique, incidents or other unusual occurrences. Perform direct terminal cleaning activities at the end of the day. Return telephone calls to patients, and make appropriate documentation in the patient chart. Respond to pharmacy telephone calls and faxes relating to patient medications and make appropriate documentation in patient chart. Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and medications. Attend any office meetings requested by clinical supervisor. Maintain patient literature for all procedures performed. And other duties as needed. Should be flexible to cover offices/hours when other clinical personnel are out, in all of our four locations.
