We are part of Advocare a large physician organization. We are 1 MD , 1 partiime NP and 1 partime RD. We treat patients with a variety of Endocrinology issues such as obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and other hormonal disorders. We take immense pride in treating each patient with utmost care and attention.
Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. Ability to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing, filing, processing records, answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments and processing referrals. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served. Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations Counseling patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about the treatment Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc. Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed Performs additional job-related duties as assigned Understanding Microsoft Office Lab call back Sending refills Phlebotomy and processing lab samples Helping physician scribe 1x a week
Certified Medical Assistant Skills/Abilities:
Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in administrative tasks Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Certified Medical Assistant Qualifications:
Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required High school diploma or equivalent required One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
