SUMMARY:
The medical assistant performs a mixture of both clerical administrative medical assisting, as well as clinical medical office assisting in Primary and/or Specialty care settings. The Certified Medical Assistant works in collaboration with licensed physicians and mid-level providers (NP/PA's), and reports to a Physician Practice Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives patients and their families and directs them to the appropriate place. Answers telephones promptly and politely. Schedules appointments Files pertinent information within patient's records Obtains insurance prior authorizations Inputs charges on patient accounts Verifies patient insurance upon registration Billing Obtains & documents vital signs on patients Acts as a chaperone for the provider when needed Obtains & document patient weights Assist physician with minor procedures such as suture removal
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent 6 months of clinical experience as a nursing assistant or related field Ability to file and retrieve patient records. Ability to obtain & document patient vitals, weights, etc Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families and providers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
M•Medium Work•Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE
$19.08•$27.99 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date , relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
