Position Overview:
The Medical Assistant will provide support to healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves assisting with patient examinations, conducting diagnostic tests, and ensuring efficient office operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to providing outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments. Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and collecting specimens. Conduct basic laboratory tests and interpret results as needed. Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Schedule patient appointments, manage referrals, and coordinate follow-up care. Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and processing insurance claims. Maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly sterilized and ready for use. Educate patients on health maintenance and provide instructions for follow-up care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program and/or certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) is preferred. Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a healthcare setting is advantageous. Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical procedures. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Basic knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software. Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
