We deliver high-quality testing to identify neurological and sleep-related disorders and are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to specialize in patient test preparation. Position Overview We are seeking a clinically precise Medical Assistant (MA) to serve as our EEG Setup Specialist. In this role, your primary responsibility will be setting up patients for Electroencephalogram (EEG) testing only. You will manage the technical application of electrodes, prepare patients for their studies, and ensure data baseline continuity. No prior EEG experience is required; we provide comprehensive, hands-on technical training. Key Responsibilities Execute precise EEG setups on adult and pediatric patients according to clinic protocols and the international 10-20 measurement system. Prepare and prep the patient's skin and securely apply EEG electrodes using clinical paste or specialized head caps. Educate patients and families, walking them through what to expect during the test to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation. Perform initial technical calibrations on digital EEG equipment to verify a clear, artifact-free baseline signal before testing begins. Disconnect patients upon test completion, cleaning equipment and testing rooms according to strict infection control and sanitation standards. Manage administrative clinic workflow, including managing patient files in the electronic medical records (EMR) system and rooming patients.

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.

Certifications:

Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) is strongly preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification is mandatory.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience in neurology, sleep medicine, or pediatrics is a major plus, but we are fully prepared to train the right candidate on technical EEG placement.

Skills:

Excellent manual dexterity (for precise electrode placement), a welcoming bedside manner, and comfort working with digital medical software.
