Job Description
Job Summary Medical Professionals is seeking Medical Assistants / Clinical Support Staff to join a behavioral health team supporting psychiatric prescribers, nurses, and patients. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a Medical Assistant with experience in a medical setting who is comfortable with patient communication, electronic health records, medication-related support, and coordinating care. Key Responsibilities Screen patient telephone calls regarding medical questions and concerns and communicate issues to the appropriate clinical staff. Gather and document appropriate patient information during the pre-visit process. Assist psychiatric prescribers and nursing staff with clinical support duties within applicable federal and state regulations. Complete insurance authorizations for medications and other services as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Communicate patient concerns and updates to members of the care team to support continuity and coordination of care. Perform additional Medical Assistant and clinical support duties specific to the assigned service location. Follow organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable certification or registry standards. Minimum Qualifications Skills and experience working with a general patient population in a medical setting. Knowledge of behavioral health disorders and treatments, including psychotropic medications and potential side effects. Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR) and e-prescribing system . Must be able to meet requirements for an Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Medical Assistant diploma or certification preferred. Previous mental health or behavioral health experience desired.
