Position Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President Laboratory & Oncology Services and the Laboratory Director and responsible to the Chief of Pathology and Medical Director, the administrative assistant will serve as clerical support to the Pathology department and assist with clerical support of the Laboratory department as needed. They will perform their tasks with minimal supervision and work collaboratively with the Laboratory team. Responsibilities Reconcile transcribed information from surgery procedure requisitions into the EMR Obtain, package, document, and mail slides requested from outside facilities File intradepartmental consults for pathologists Type correspondence for pathologists, when needed Reconcile invoices, log payments billed, and submit for payment to Accounts Payable Download ancillary reports from reference laboratories Type and maintain pathology policies and procedure manuals Act as Document Controller for the Pathology department Schedule appointments and meetings for pathologists Printing of logs for pathologist to review Organize Tumor Conference agenda, gather case information, and prepare PowerPoint presentation Enter pathologist payroll for VP approval Copy/distribute Pathologists' work schedules and vacation schedules Set-up/Organize quarterly Pathology Quality Meeting Data compilation for reporting Proctor Pathologist Proficiency Testing Answering phones, making copies, filing, and other clerical duties Requirements Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions Customer service oriented Previous healthcare experience required as well as medical terminology Must be detailed oriented Ability to work with multiple disciplines Ability to use a computer Microsoft Office proficient LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards Licking Memorial Health Systems is an equal opportunity employer and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
