Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support clinical operations by providing exceptional patient care, assisting healthcare providers, and managing administrative tasks within a dynamic medical environment. All roles are paid positions, emphasizing our commitment to valuing every team member's contribution. Responsibilities Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits. Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision. Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, including phlebotomy and medication administration. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient histories, medical notes, and treatment plans in compliance with privacy regulations. Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical histories, and answering patient questions professionally. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing while maintaining strict quality standards. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing concerns with empathy, ensuring comfort, and fostering a welcoming environment. Support medical office management through scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating follow-up care. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings like outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or specialty departments such as dermatology or geriatrics. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and EMR/EHR management to ensure accurate documentation and billing. Skills Proven experience in medical assisting within outpatient or hospital environments; dermatology or urgent care experience is a plus. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and EMR/EHR management tools for efficient documentation. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations. Ability to perform phlebotomy accurately and confidently; familiarity with medication administration protocols is desirable. Knowledge of hospital medicine practices including inpatient care procedures such as vital signs monitoring in ICU or PICU settings. Experience supporting medical office operations including scheduling, record keeping, intake procedures, and administrative support functions. Basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively in emergency situations. Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows in internal medicine or surgical specialties; Level II trauma center experience is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical documentation and records efficiently. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
