Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Support clinical procedures by performing basic phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and wound care under supervision. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical history, and treatment plans. Facilitate patient flow by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and providing excellent patient service throughout their visit. Maintain compliance with medical documentation standards, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication protocols to support billing and regulatory requirements. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to accurately support clinical documentation. Experience working in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management to ensure seamless documentation workflows. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations. Basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively in emergency situations. Familiarity with medical assisting procedures such as vital signs collection, specimen handling, and medication administration. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine units or Level II trauma centers while maintaining attention to detail.
