Overview The Dermatology Medical Assistant (Dermatology Tech) supports the physician and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality dermatologic care. This role assists with medical and surgical dermatology procedures, prepares patients for evaluation and treatment, documents visits in the EZDERM electronic medical record, and ensures efficient clinic flow. Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites for dermatology procedures. Assist providers with general dermatologic examinations. Perform clinical photography when indicated for medical documentation. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and wound care instructions. Assist providers with in-office procedures including: Biopsies Surgical Excisions ED&C (Electrodessication & Curettage) Mohs Surgery Electronic Medical Record Documentation Document patient encounters in

Enter histories, medications, allergies, and procedure documentation. Assist providers with scribing during patient visits when needed. Upload clinical photographs and pathology results. Ensure accurate chart completion and coding support. Laboratory & Pathology Responsibilities Properly label, package, and ship pathology specimens. Complete pathology requisition forms. Track pending pathology results and notify provider of abnormal findings. Clinical Operations Maintain stocked exam rooms and procedure trays. Clean and disinfect exam rooms and surgical areas according to OSHA guidelines. Ensure proper sterilization and storage of surgical instruments. Monitor supply levels and notify management when inventory is low. Patient Communication Provide post-procedure instructions for biopsies, excisions, ED&C, and Mohs surgery. Answer patient questions regarding wound care and medications. Assist with patient callbacks and follow-up communication. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology and dermatologic conditions. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations. Strong communication and organizational skills. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Dermatology Technician certification. Experience assisting with Mohs surgery or dermatologic procedures. Skills and Competencies Knowledge of dermatologic conditions and treatments Sterile technique and procedural assistance Electronic medical record documentation Patient communication and education Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods.
