Job Description

Mercy, a leading healthcare organization in the Midwest, seeks an Ada professional to support Healthcare & Medical Services operations. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams to enhance patient care delivery through reliable, secure, and efficient systems and workflows. You'll help develop, optimize, and maintain tools that support clinical decision-making and operational excellence. Responsibilities Support intake, assessment, and triage of patients in collaboration with licensed providers. Document clinical information, vital signs, and patient histories accurately in the electronic health record system. Coordinate diagnostic tests, procedures, referrals, and follow up appointments across multiple specialties. Assist with implementation of care plans under the direction of physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses. Reinforce patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self care strategies. Monitor and promptly report changes in patient condition and response to interventions to the clinical team. Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA privacy regulations. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute feedback to enhance patient outcomes and workflows. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care transitions. Engage in continuing education, trainings, and specialty development opportunities offered by Mercy. Required Skills Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Patient intake and triage Vital signs measurement and monitoring Care coordination across multidisciplinary teams Clinical data collection and reporting Basic diagnostic support (e.g., labs, imaging coordination) Patient education and discharge planning support Infection control and safety protocols HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Basic life support (BLS) Scheduling and appointment management Medical terminology proficiency Communication with physicians and nursing staff Use of clinical software and hospital information systems
