About Us Canby Healthcare Clinic is a dedicated, small family practice committed to providing personalized, high-quality care to our community. Job Summary We are seeking a professional, reliable, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will handle a blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities to support our providers and ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, small-team setting and treats patients with empathy and respect.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and confirming the reason for the visit. Assist providers with minor routine exams and clinical procedures. Administer medications and vaccines under provider direction. Perform phlebotomy, basic laboratory testing, and specimen collection. Ensure examination rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies.
Administrative & Coordination Duties:
Route patient phone messages and electronic health records (EHR) inquiries directly to providers. Assist with patient scheduling, prescription refills, and medical record management. Coordinate referral requests and follow-up communication with patients.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent military / practical medical experience.
Certification:
Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, NCCT, or NHA) is preferred. Candidates eligible to obtain certification within one year of hire will also be considered.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in a primary care or family practice setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and basic medical computer tasks.
