Current Medical Assistant certification is required for this position. Applicants must be able to provide documentation verifying their current certification and expiration/renewal date. Our practice specializes primarily in osteoporosis and thyroid disorders. Because we are a small office, we are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, taking ownership of their responsibilities, communicating closely with the physician and office team, and helping wherever needed to keep patient care running smoothly. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain/document vital signs Process prescription refill requests Create and process laboratory and imaging orders Obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications and imaging Handle patient calls and telephone encounters Contact patients to communicate laboratory and other medical results as directed by the physician Communicate medication instructions, physician recommendations, and follow-up information clearly and accurately Document all patient communications appropriately in the medical record Review incoming clinical information and route it appropriately Obtain outside medical records, laboratory results, and imaging when needed Assist the physician with day-to-day clinical workflow Work collaboratively with clinical and front-office staff Required Qualifications Current, active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or equivalent) Must be able to provide documentation of current certification Previous clinical Medical Assistant experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities Professional, dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused Preferred Experience eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience strongly preferred Epic/EpicCare experience is a plus Experience processing prescription refills and prior authorizations Experience creating laboratory and imaging orders Experience communicating results and physician instructions to patients Endocrinology, internal medicine, primary care, or specialty-practice experience
Position Details Schedule:
Full-time and part-time opportunities available
Compensation:
Starting at $25.00/hour , with higher compensation available depending on experience
