Job Description

Job Description WorkWell Physicians P.C. is an Occupational Medicine Provider with 3 clinics in western Pennsylvania. The Medical Assistant assists with the efficient operation of the clinic. The Medical Assistants will perform and assist with occupational testing, patient care, procedures, scheduling appointments, maintaining stock and other daily operations at our Coraopolis clinic. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am. to 5:00pm., with all evening, weekends and major holidays off. This is full time, hourly paid position.
Administrative Duties:
Greet patients and help them fill out forms; answer incoming calls; schedule follow up specialist examinations, physical therapy, and diagnostic appointments; maintain a complete, up-to-date patient medical chart as well as case notes on all patients; complete billing sheets/insurance forms for every exam or other service performed; order prescription medications, medical supplies, and office supplies as needed Make sure all forms are completed properly for all services including physicals and injections.
Clinical Duties:
Preparing patients for examination; assisting the physician during exams; collecting and preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests; drawing blood; taking electrocardiograms; performing drug and alcohol test collections and screenings.
Qualifications:
Prior Medical Assistant experience required (minimum of 1 years) High School Diploma or Equivalent Degree in related field preferred. Must be able to effectively and courteously communicate on the telephone. Must be able to understand and follow written procedure. Must possess excellent organization skills Must be able to work independently.
