https://padspcs.com/ About the Clinical Specialist Positions CS1 — Pre- and Post-Procedure. Verifying medical history and medications, placing IVs, obtaining baseline vitals and pedal pulses, preparing the groin for access, and documenting in the EMR. Post-procedure, you recover the patient: monitoring vitals and the access site, assuring hemostasis, obtaining pulses, discharging the patient home, and keeping clinical supplies at par levels. Requires solid medical knowledge, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure while working alongside the Proceduralist, CRNAs, and other Clinical Specialists. CS2 — Consults and Clinical Assessment. Part of a three-person consult team with the NP and the ultrasound tech. After the US tech completes the scans, you run the patient consultation: detailed H&P, medication list, ABIs, vital signs, wound photos, and charting. You then brief the NP on whether the patient may be a candidate for a PAD procedure, and collect blood specimens by venipuncture for pre-procedural testing. Fast-paced and customer-service driven. CS3 — First Assistant to the Proceduralist. Setting out instruments, positioning the patient on the operating table, arranging sterile drapes, handing instruments to the Proceduralist, and keeping a sterile environment at all times. Hand dexterity and attention to detail matter. Physically demanding — you are standing, walking, moving patients, and turning over the procedure room for 90%+ of your shift, wearing a lead vest that adds 10-15 lbs. CS4 — Procedure Room Circulator. The leader in the procedure room, making sure flow runs smoothly and that everyone follows PADS processes. Confirming pre-procedure guidelines were followed, reviewing the chart and labs, dispensing medications by mouth or IV, documenting the procedure and building the report, tracking supplies used, and being prepared to handle patient complications. When a CRNA is unavailable, the CS4 administers conscious sedation under the direct supervision of the Physician, acting as an extension of the Physician. This is our most advanced role — it requires a high level of medical knowledge and experience, and we build people up to it over time.

Important:

Fluoroscopy (which emits low-level radiation) is used in the procedure suite. While all team members wear protective lead as standard practice, this role may not be suitable for individuals who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Locations & Travel Location(s): Bedford and Denton, Texas. (Travel to Denton is once every 2 weeks) You will need to travel between both locations to receive full-time hours. Travel to Houston, Texas, may be required. Other travel may be required for training purposes or to provide coverage, with all travel accommodations fully paid for by the company.
