Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Patient appointment scheduling. 2. Facilitate patient intake and exit. 3. Answering phones and directing messages appropriately. 4. Data entry and chart filing. 5. Carry out action items for patient care on behalf of the physician. 6. Maintain office supply stocks. 7. Interact with vendor representatives. 8. Assist in upkeep of office space and waiting room area.
Qualifications:
Education/ Certification/ Licensure:
1. Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program, ongoing certification by American Association of Medical Assistants desirable. 2. First Aid/ CPR certification
Experience:
Minimum THREE years of experience in a medical office environment
Skills:
1. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills 2. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively 3. Able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation 4. Able to adhere to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, security, punctuality, and personal appearance 5. Medical terminology 6. Competent use of electronic health record software and data entry-based online interfaces 7. Familiarity with insurance payor structure and medical billing terms 8. Knowledge of medications and simple outpatient procedures
