Position Summary Looking for 1 Full Time Employee to start in the next few weeks. This is a split job where ~70% of the tasks are typical Medical Assistant work and the other ~30% is laboratory work, which are mostly described below. Work Schedule Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays for 12+ hour shifts. A typical schedule consists of 3 ~12 hour shifts a week and/or a 7 hour Saturday. Monday through Friday we are open from 8am and take our last patient at 7:30pm. The Lab shift begins at 7am and Clinical shift no later than 7:30am. Saturdays we open at 10am and take our last patient at 4. The tech running the lab is expected to arrive at 8am to perform weekly maintenance and the other at 9am. Shifts do not end until the last patient leaves the building. Clinical duties Bring patients to rooms and collect basic histories, check vitals, and enter the data into the EMR. Perform various procedures; EKG, PFT, Orthostatics, Visual Acuity, Ear Irrigation, Wound cleaning and dressing, etc... Prepare, clean, and stock patient rooms, each morning and throughout the day. Perform waived testing, like Strep A and urinalysis. Properly various patient samples like nasal and throat swabs and... Phlebotomy Assist during medical examinations. Take out the trash on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Lab Duties Daily Startup and maintenance for Laboratory Equipment and Analyzers. Perform quality control and calibrations for all testing, each day. Keep the Lab stocked and the Inventory up to date in the LIS. Follow standard procedures and formulas to prepare reagents and solutions for testing. Accurately perform testing and follow procedures for all phases of testing; pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical. Document errors or critical results that occur in testing, as well as repeat confirmatory testing. Document corrective actions when corrections are needed. Use problem solving skills and equipment manuals to troubleshoot Laboratory testing issues, to ensure that test systems are functioning properly. Perform both waived and moderate complexity testing. General Requirements Good attitude and readiness to work. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with teammates, patients, and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times. Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures Compliance with all healthcare regulations; OSHA, HIPAA, and COLA. Good attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision. Access to Reliable transportation. Eligible to work in the United States. Physical Requirements Standing/Walking for long periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to ~50lbs. Required Documentation Highschool Diploma/GED Resume Medical Assistant Certification Basic Life Support certification required. Phlebotomy certification Preferred.
