Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms with enthusiasm and accuracy Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety Conduct phlebotomy and medication administration as directed, following proper protocols and safety standards Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently by documenting medical information, updating records, and ensuring data accuracy Support medical office operations through appointment scheduling, patient communication, and administrative tasks such as ICD coding and medical documentation Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies, sterilize equipment, and maintain cleanliness to uphold infection control standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, geriatrics, or trauma centers to deliver comprehensive patient care Qualifications Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care is highly desirable Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to ensure precise documentation and communication Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required to respond effectively in emergency situations Inpatient experience or Level I/II trauma center exposure is preferred for those interested in high-acuity environments Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally across diverse populations including geriatrics Knowledge of hospital procedures such as OR assistance or Level I Trauma Center protocols is a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your clinical expertise makes a difference every day!
