Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support when necessary. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently by documenting patient encounters, updating medical records, and ensuring data accuracy. Support medical office management through scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative duties related to patient care. Assist with specialized procedures in dermatology clinics or inpatient settings within hospital environments, including OR (Operating Room) support or trauma center protocols. Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards, ICD coding for diagnoses, and pharmacology guidelines for medication management. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with a strong background in medical documentation and patient care. Knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care practices, and geriatrics is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support clinical tasks effectively. Inpatient experience or Level I/II trauma center exposure is advantageous for working in high-acuity settings.
