South Texas Retina Consultants is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and outgoing Medical Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, and committed to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice. Previous ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required . We are happy to train the right candidate who demonstrates professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Pre-employment drug screening, background check, and verification of employment eligibility are required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist physicians and providers with patient examinations and procedures. Obtain and accurately document patient medical history, medications, and vital signs. Administer medications and ophthalmic drops as directed by the provider. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and medical supplies. Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations. Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR). Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Previous medical office experience preferred. Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required . Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
