Job Description

About the Opportunity GiaCare is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient healthcare services at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. This position offers an excellent opportunity to provide hands-on clinical and administrative support within a structured military healthcare environment. The successful candidate will work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals while supporting service members, military families, retirees, and other eligible beneficiaries. Responsibilities Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and patient concerns Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures Administer medications and injections as authorized and within the established scope of practice Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures as assigned Conduct EKGs and other routine diagnostic procedures when required Prepare examination rooms and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and clinical equipment Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record Schedule appointments, answer telephone calls, and assist with other administrative functions Follow infection-control, patient-safety, privacy, and documentation requirements Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of a Certified Medical Assistant Requirements Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through a nationally recognized credentialing organization Completion of an accredited or formally recognized Medical Assistant training program Current Basic Life Support certification Relevant clinical experience performing both administrative and hands-on patient-care duties Experience obtaining vital signs, preparing patients, documenting medical information, and assisting healthcare providers Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard clinical documentation Ability to successfully complete required background, occupational health, and security requirements Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be a United States citizen Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a military treatment facility, federal healthcare setting, or large outpatient clinic Experience performing venipuncture, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills Familiarity with military healthcare systems and patient populations Why GiaCare?
