Responsibilities Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, and urgent care settings. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support when necessary. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems/EMR) by documenting patient information, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate coding including ICD codes. Support medical administrative functions such as patient intake, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining medical documentation. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards. Collaborate with hospital teams in inpatient settings or trauma centers to facilitate seamless patient care transitions. Skills Proven experience in medical office management and medical assisting within diverse healthcare environments such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, or urgent care centers. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate documentation and patient care. Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems for efficient electronic health records management and ICD coding accuracy. Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures with precision and confidence; familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and trauma patients. In-depth understanding of hospital experience requirements including Level I or Level II trauma center protocols or OR (Operating Room) procedures is advantageous. Knowledge of inpatient processes, basic life support certification, and familiarity with hospital medicine practices enhances your effectiveness in this role. Must know how to read/give lab and pathology results.
