Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration under supervision, and basic life support (BLS) when necessary. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of medical records, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans. Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling patient inquiries with excellent service skills. Assist in the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, or trauma centers. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards. Support medical documentation efforts by ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and accurate record keeping in EMR/EHR systems. Experience Prior experience in medical office support or clinical assisting roles is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently. Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or inpatient units is advantageous. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
