Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Performs all clinic nursing functions, as well as required laboratory procedures and administrative duties as requested by supervisor. Acknowledges and responds appropriately to the hospital's customer relations philosophy, including the five fundamentals of the AIDET program.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES 1.
Ensures the general cleanliness and professional appearance of each exam room prior to and after each patient encounter. Escorts the patient into an exam/treatment room and prepare the patient for the appropriate exam. Obtains chief complaint, vital signs, and other pertinent patient information and record on the patient's chart. 2. Obtain blood, urine, and other patient specimens and prepare them as necessary for in-house clinic testing or shipment to laboratory, as directed by the Physician or Physician Assistant. Perform lab testing procedures on specimens according to procedures established by laboratory director. 3. Assist the provider as needed in all aspects of patient care that are within the individual capabilities of the Medical Assistant. 4. Order and stock medical and laboratory supplies. Maintain sample medications to include stocking, inventory and disposal of expired medications. Maintains supplies of injectable medications and vaccines, to include ordering, inventory and disposal of expired medications. 5. Assumes responsibility and is self-motivated. 6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education High School graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of medical assisting program preferred. Must possess communicative skills necessary to understand medical terminology procedures and orders. Injection experience is a must! Physical Demands Must be able to work nine hours, stand and walk for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level; lift supplies weighing up to 35 lbs.; assist patients in moving from position to position. Working Conditions Must be flexible. Regularly scheduled hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Exposure to sick patients, equipment and staff noise and interruption. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude. Understand and honor requirements of patient confidentiality.
