In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist with medical documentation in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Your expertise in medical assisting, combined with your knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and geriatrics, will help ensure our patients receive timely and quality care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across diverse specialties including inpatient settings, trauma centers, and outpatient clinics, all while supporting the smooth functioning of our medical office. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures including recording vital signs, collecting medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or specialty clinics. Conduct phlebotomy and medication administration with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, medical records management, and detailed note-taking for patient encounters. Support clinical workflows by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and safety. Support medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and coordinating referrals or follow-up care. Assist with inpatient care activities in hospital or trauma center environments, including vital signs monitoring and documentation. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across various settings including Level I trauma centers or OR environments when applicable. Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with a focus on dermatology, urgent care, or geriatrics preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in EHR/EMR systems and medical documentation practices. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with ICD coding, anatomy knowledge, physiology fundamentals, and medical terminology essential for accurate recordkeeping. Prior inpatient experience or Level II trauma center exposure is highly desirable. Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to outpatient or inpatient care environments. Experience working within hospital medicine units or OR settings adds valuable insight into complex patient care processes.
