The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient front office operation, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting medical administrative tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic or hospital. Manage patient intake processes, including collecting personal information, medical history, and insurance details. Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals for patients in accordance with their needs. Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Assist with basic life support procedures as necessary and monitor vital signs when required. Provide administrative support to medical staff by preparing charts for patient visits and assisting with ICD coding. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance patient care experience. Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and manage correspondence efficiently. Ensure that the reception area is organized and welcoming at all times. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar position is preferred, particularly in dermatology, urgent care, or internal medicine settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding is essential. Familiarity with EHR systems and basic life support certification is highly desirable. Experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is a plus; familiarity with Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to manage individual responsibilities effectively. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are necessary for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals alike.
