Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to handle various responsibilities related to patient care and office management. Duties Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history. Answer phone calls, address inquiries, and provide information about services offered. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with privacy regulations. Process medical forms and documentation related to urgent care, medication administration, and various specialties such as dermatology and geriatrics. Assist in coordinating referrals to specialists as needed. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding treatment plans or follow-up care. Support clinical staff with administrative tasks related to emergency medicine, PICU, or medical-surgical procedures. Skills Proficiency in medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare setting. Knowledge of physiology and understanding of various medical fields including urgent care, dermatology, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and PICU is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and staff. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus. Capability to handle sensitive information confidentially and ethically.
