Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately. Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care procedures. Perform phlebotomy and medication administration under supervision to support patient diagnostics and treatment plans. Manage medical documentation including ICD coding, medical records, and detailed clinical notes to ensure compliance and accuracy. Support medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical supplies inventory. Conduct basic physiology assessments and monitor patient vital signs to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Facilitate communication between patients and providers by answering questions, providing instructions, and ensuring a positive patient service experience. Experience Prior medical office experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. Hands-on experience in dermatology clinics, hospital settings—including Level I or Level II trauma centers—and inpatient environments. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms for documentation and data management. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are preferred. Experience working in urgent care or emergency settings with exposure to ICD coding and hospital medicine is highly desirable. Knowledge of inpatient procedures including OR (Operating Room) experience or Level I trauma center protocols enhances your candidacy.
