Overview We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Certified Medical Assistant to join our pediatric office team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical assisting, with experience in outpatient settings, and demonstrate excellent patient service skills. This role offers an opportunity to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care while ensuring smooth clinical operations. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring comfort and safety. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing medical histories and documenting relevant information in electronic health records (EHR). Perform phlebotomy procedures and collect laboratory specimens following proper protocols. Manage patient intake processes, including registration, insurance verification, and updating medical records. Support medical documentation efforts by accurately recording clinical notes, medication administration, and procedural details. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, ensuring compliance with infection control standards. Assist with basic pharmacology tasks such as medication administration under supervision when appropriate. Utilize EHR systems efficiently for scheduling, documentation, and billing support. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care across outpatient services, emergency medicine settings, or hospital environments as needed. Experience Prior medical office experience with a focus on pediatric or outpatient care is highly preferred. Experience working in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine settings is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards is essential. Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and electronic medical records (EMR) management tools. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program is required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory. Inpatient experience or hospital-based roles such as Level I or Level II trauma centers enhances candidacy. Familiarity with phlebotomy techniques, medication administration procedures, and medical-surgical practices will strengthen your application.
