Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring efficient flow and comfort. Gather patient histories, measure vital signs, and document medical information accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and sterilize equipment following health regulation policies, organizing cabinets/drawers, ordering supplies. Provide first aid and basic life support (CPR) when needed, responding swiftly to emergency care situations, preparing/drawing medications per provider request. Educate patients on disease prevention, chronic disease management, and treatment plans to promote overall well-being. Manage medical documentation with precision, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Greet patients, take copays/payments, prepare patients for examinations and procedures, reschedule patients, answering/returning clinic phone calls, EHR messages, faxes, and emails. Qualifications Proven experience in medical assisting or related healthcare roles, with familiarity in EMR/EHR management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing principles. Certification in medical assistant preferred, but not required. Certified in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) are highly desirable. Demonstrated understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance and medical records handling. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while providing compassionate patient care. Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively within a healthcare team led by nursing leadership. Bilingual is helpful, but not required.
