Job Description

Job Description Livingspring Neurology Center is a growing outpatient neurology practice in Chesapeake, Virginia. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and organized Medical Assistant to provide in-office clinical support and help us deliver an excellent patient experience. This is initially a part-time position (approximately 20-25 hours per week) with the opportunity for increased hours as the practice grows. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs Review medications, allergies, pharmacy information, and medical history Perform medication reconciliation Prepare examination and procedure rooms Assist the physician during examinations and office procedures Assist with patient intake and clinical documentation Coordinate laboratory tests, imaging, referrals, and diagnostic studies Assist with prior authorizations when needed Prepare and assist patients undergoing neurological testing, including EEG and EMG/NCS Assist with procedure setup, supplies, and inventory Communicate with patients, pharmacies, laboratories, imaging centers, and referring offices Maintain clean, stocked, and organized clinical areas Follow HIPAA, infection-control, and patient-safety requirements Qualifications Medical Assistant training or relevant clinical experience Excellent communication and patient-service skills Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented Comfortable using computers and electronic health records Ability to work independently in a small medical practice Strong organizational and multitasking skills Preferred CMA or RMA certification Outpatient or specialty-practice experience Athenahealth/AthenaOne experience Experience with prior authorizations Neurology, EEG, EMG/NCS, injection, or procedure experience Neurology experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours/week, primarily weekday daytime hours. Opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows.
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
