Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical setting, specifically within Primary Care/Internal Medicine. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Perform CLIA Waived testing and sterilize medical instruments. Nurse lab duty Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked. Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR). Experience with Athena a plus, but not required. Patient intake/triage, take vital signs, record and update medical/social histories, and prepare patients for examinations/procedures Performing Medicare Annual Wellness Visits Depression screening, fall risk screening Administer and document injections/immunizations Phone triage with patients and communication with pharmacies, DME companies. Support coding processes for billing and insurance purposes. Collaborate with nursing staff to provide comprehensive patient care. Engage with geriatric patients, offering specialized care tailored to their needs. Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant required. Experience in a clinic setting, particularly in Internal Medicine or similar fields, is highly desirable. Ensure compliance with clinic systems and protocols for patient care. Effectively use necessary PPE as appropriate and adhere to safe handling and disposal protocols for medical equipment and materials Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of patient care.
