Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure clinical areas are maintained according to safety protocols Perform phlebotomy procedures and collect laboratory specimens accurately Administer medications and injections following established protocols under supervision Support patient education by providing instructions on medications, procedures, and post-visit care Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding, medical records management, and detailed note-taking Coordinate appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and manage administrative tasks such as billing and insurance verification Assist in hospital medicine settings with inpatient care activities, including monitoring vital signs and supporting clinical workflows Maintain proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and record keeping Support emergency medicine or trauma center teams by preparing supplies and assisting during urgent procedures as needed Uphold patient service excellence by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and effective communication at all times Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards Proven experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics Strong background in medical office management and administrative support functions Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and EMR platforms Competence in phlebotomy techniques and medication administration procedures In-depth understanding of inpatient and outpatient workflows within hospital or trauma center environments Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certifications and respond effectively to emergency situations Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and cultural sensitivity Knowledge of medical-surgical practices relevant to internal medicine or geriatrics settings Experience supporting complex clinical teams such as PICU or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant to make a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes through expert clinical support combined with outstanding administrative coordination.
