The Medical Assistant (MA) supports safe, efficient patient care in the outpatient setting. The MA performs rooming and intake, obtains and documents vital signs and histories, assists with examinations and minor procedures, performs point-of-care testing, administers medications as delegated, and provides patient education within scope. The MA supports clinic workflows through accurate documentation, clerical tasks, and coordination of patient flow under the direction of licensed providers and clinic leadership.
