Job Summary #HC1 | Outpatient Coder | Las Vegas, NV We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder to join a healthcare organization's Health Information Management team in Las Vegas, NV. This position is responsible for researching codes, reviewing and abstracting medical information, and assigning accurate, complete, and billable codes for outpatient and physician clinical services.

On-site daily during an approximately 6-month probationary period

Eligible for remote work after successfully completing the probationary period
Residency Requirement:
Candidate must reside in Clark County, NV or be willing to permanently relocate within Clark County, Nevada before hire.
On-Site Requirement:
Candidate must be willing and capable of working on-site Monday-Friday during the probationary period, from 7:00 AM-4:30 PM , with the first two weeks scheduled from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM . Key Responsibilities Perform outpatient professional coding for physician and clinician services. Research codes and abstract clinical information from medical records. Assign accurate and billable CPT, HCPCS, and
ICD-10-CM/PCS
codes. Apply Medicare hospital and physician outpatient coding and reimbursement guidelines. Identify coding opportunities and recommend process improvements. Review and report coding trends, discrepancies, and inconsistencies. Conduct queries and review denials. Use 3M 360 or similar encoder/Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) systems . Maintain required quality, productivity, accuracy, and confidentiality standards. Support revenue cycle workflows, including charge review, code edits, auditing, and denials management. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of documented outpatient professional coding experience. Experience may include physician offices, ambulatory surgery centers, emergency departments, hospitalist services, or multidisciplinary medical practices. Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and
ICD-10-CM/PCS
coding. Knowledge of outpatient coding guidelines and Medicare reimbursement regulations. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, productivity, and confidentiality. Certifications One of the following is required:
