Job Description

TeamHealth is seeking an experienced emergency medicine physician to step into a pivotal leadership role as the facility medical director for our dynamic emergency departments. This role uniquely blends clinical practice with administrative leadership, offering you the opportunity to drive operational excellence, patient care quality, and team performance across two state-of-the-art facilities. Key Responsibilities Clinical and administrative leadership: oversee both clinical operations and administrative functions to ensure the highest standards of patient care Team leadership: direct and mentor teams of physicians and advanced practice clinicians Advocacy and collaboration: serve as an advocate for patients, peers, and nursing colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration Operational improvement: influence and enhance processes to optimize operational efficiency and improve patient outcomes Abrazo West Campus Level 1 trauma center Annual emergency department volume: 47,000 (12% admission rate) 35 ED beds

38 physician hours; 34 advanced practice clinician hours Additional features: Certified stroke and chest pain center, EM residency program Requirements EM training: board-certified or board-eligible in emergency medicine
