An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Summary The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Services provides leadership, supervision and coordinates department activities, ensuring safety to both patients and staff. Directs all human resource functions of the department with include; overseeing training and ensures staff competencies, ensures safe staffing levels. Develops and manages budget to meet department, organizational and patient safety goals and ensures regulatory compliance. The Manger ensures ongoing monitoring of departmental indicators and PI activities, reports activities as directed. The Manger responds to the needs of the department by performing radiology technician duties when needed.
Skills & Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of all regulatory standards that apply to all department and patient care activities. Establishes departmental policies, procedures and performance standards in conformance with administrative policies and licensing requirements and reviews on an annual basis. Plans, organizes, and directs overall operations of the Digital Imaging Department, Computerized Radiography and Picture archiving systems. Acts as professional liaison with Medical Staff, Business Office, Admitting, Accounting , Information Systems and all departments to ensure a strong viable Diagnostic Imaging Department. Maintains staffing at a level consistent with acuity calculations and to ensure a safe level of care. Solid understanding of Imaging operations and workflows and how department's process/workflow impacts other department operations. Develops and manages budget according to organizational goals and objected and patient safety standards. Ability to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and/or leaders to achieve business objectives. Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking and planning skills, and is able to develop plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles and resolve operational issues. Requirements Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Current ARRT certification preferred. Bachelors Degree in Health Science, Public Administration or Business Administration Specialized training in Nuclear medicine and Ultrasound Technology preferred. Five years of supervisory experience in all medical imaging functions preferred.
