Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Director of Biomedical Engineering to lead our biomedical technology service engineers and ensure the optimal performance, safety, and regulatory compliance of medical equipment across our healthcare facilities. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, driving innovation and excellence in biomedical device management. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of biomedical electronics, mechanical systems, and healthcare regulations, inspiring teams to deliver exceptional service and maintain the highest standards of patient safety and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities :

Lead the development and implementation of biomedical engineering strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring efficient equipment management and regulatory compliance. Manages several Biomedical departments such as Telemetry, Patient monitors, Infusion Pumps, Wall Suctions, Modules, Transducer, Oxygen Blender, and Bladder Scanner departments, Defibrillators, Electrical surgical Units, Ventilators. Oversee the maintenance, calibration, repair, and troubleshooting of complex medical electronic and elector-mechanical equipment, utilizing advanced electronics diagnostics and test equipment. Manage vendor relationships with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to facilitate equipment procurement, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring adherence to ISO standards and biomedical regulatory requirements. Supervise field service teams responsible for on-site equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance using hand tools, electrical schematics reading, mechanical skills, and computer hardware knowledge. Develop and enforce protocols for electrical diagnostics, calibration procedures, and equipment testing to optimize performance and safety across all clinical environments. Ensure compliance with biomedical regulatory standards by maintaining detailed documentation of maintenance activities, incident reports, and safety audits. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training staff on new technologies, troubleshooting techniques, and industry best practices related to DME (Durable Medical Equipment) management. Director of Biomedical engineering innovates and designs technological solutions for the medical industry. Their main goal is to improve the quality and effectiveness of patient care by ensuring that medical devices, instruments, and software run to achieve optimal quality. Hire new technicians and provide them with training. Work with executive team on critical decisions for the company such as selecting vendors, tools. Work with the sales team manager on establish repair, sales, rental, and purchase pricing. Working with other managers to develop departmental policies and procedures. Directs the Technical Department to ensure high-efficiency operations and consistent, on-time completion of all repairs. Lead the Technical Department, optimizing repair workflows to maximize efficiency and guarantee timely delivery service. Evaluating the quality of work produced by subordinates, offering suggestions for improvement where appropriate. Experience Extensive biomedical engineering experience within healthcare settings with a focus on medical electronics, electro mechanical components, and DME repair. Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment dedicated to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of OEM specifications, schematics interpretation, electrical diagnostics, calibration procedures, and test equipment operation for biomedical devices. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking maintenance activities and asset management. Deep understanding of ISO standards related to medical device manufacturing and healthcare facility operations. Demonstrated ability to navigate biomedical regulatory compliance requirements effectively while maintaining high standards for patient safety. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in field service scenarios involving complex electro mechanical systems.

Required:

5 years supervisory experience in a Biomedical engineering setting and seven years repairing and maintaining clinical equipment.

Pay:

$108,981.16 - $150,246.13 per year
