An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Job Description Lead a brand-new emergency department in one of Central Florida's fastest-growing communities! TeamHealth is seeking an assistant facility medical director for our newly developed emergency and urgent care center in Oxford, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role at a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to deliver efficient, patient-centered emergency care in a rapidly expanding community near The Villages. This new 14,410-square-foot center will operate 24/7 and features 14 treatment rooms, full-service emergency and urgent care capabilities, on-site lab services, and an advanced radiology suite equipped with X-ray and CT scanners. Physicians will enjoy the opportunity to help shape the culture, clinical operations, and patient experience from the ground up while working alongside a collaborative and physician-led organization.
