An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Join a busy, community Emergency Department in Sebring, Florida, providing high‑quality, patient‑centered emergency care with a balanced schedule and strong APP support.

Assignment details:

Facility:

Community hospital Emergency Department Annual volume: ~18,000 visits ED size: 13 beds Coverage model: Single-physician shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) APP coverage: 8 hours/day (off season), 10 hours/day (peak season) Admission rate: ~15% Dedicated senior ER for geriatric patients

Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) Active Florida medical license, or ability to obtain one before start Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications Preferably 2+ years of recent ED experience
