Job Description TeamHealth is seeking a board-certified emergency medicine physician to serve as medical director at the Saint Vincent Hospital emergency department in Worcester, MA. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced emergency medicine leader to provide clinical, operational, and strategic oversight of the department. This role offers a balanced mix of hands-on clinical care and administrative leadership, with the opportunity to partner closely with hospital leadership to drive quality outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient experience initiatives. The 38-bed ED manages approximately 52,000 annual visits and operates within a collaborative, physician-led environment supported by strong clinical and administrative infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians Oversee clinical performance, quality metrics, and patient experience initiatives Collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize ED operations and integration with hospital services Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and patient safety Mentor and develop clinical staff while fostering a culture of excellence and compassion Qualifications Board certified in EM (ABEM or AOBEM) 3 to 5 years of clinical leadership experience preferred Demonstrated success in performance improvement and team leadership Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
Opportunity Overview:
2 patients per hour 38 ED beds 268 hospital beds 48 hours of physician coverage 40 hours of APC coverage EMR is Cerner Competitive compensation with an estimated base salary range of $359,200 to $474,000 annually with the opportunity to earn incentives.
