An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Job Description

- 12 shifts per month
- 12-hour shifts
- 11:00 am
- 11:00 pm in the Emergency Department
- Will be on shift with physician —
Duration of Assignment:
3-6 months Requirements- Board Certified PA
- Emergency Department experience required
- Montana license preferred but not required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
- Must have ED experience
- Experience in independent management of all levels of ED patients with physician back-up, leading codes, and intubation Assignment Details
- Coverage reason: Full-time APP vacancy in the ED
- ED averages 50 patients in a 24-hour period
- Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Support staff includes RN, NP/PA, physician, and ED tech
