An Emergency Medical Director within emergency medical services is a physician who provides guidance, leadership, oversight and continuous quality improvement (CQI) for the practice of local EMTs and paramedics within a predefined area. Typically board-certified in emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Generally responsible for either the creation of protocols for treatment by prehospital providers or providing leadership to the group of physicians who assist with the provision of medical oversight depending on which model of service delivery and which model of medical control are operating.

Dartmouth Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Geriatric Medicine team to provide primary care services in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The newly formed Geriatric Medicine Section formally nested under Internal Medicine, led by Section Chief, Dr. Serena Chao and VP of the Geriatric Centers of Excellence Dr. Ellen Flaherty, is an interdisciplinary team with support providers including: care coordination, dietitian consults, pharmacy services, and embedded psychiatry services. Your involvement in working within a team is an important aspect of this position but also with the ability to work autonomously. Prior advanced practice experience is desired which should include primary care and preferably geriatrics settings as well. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center ( DHMC ) and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Geriatric Services TheAging Resource Centerprovides older adults, families, and community members with information, education, and support to help them live healthier and more informed lives. TheGeriatric Emergency Department( GED ) provides emergency and trauma care for older patients. DHMC's Emergency Department has earned Level 1 accreditation from the American College of Emergency Physicians, making the medical center the only rural academic center in the United States to earn this distinction. Geriatric Psychiatryprovides mental health support for older adults. Our geriatric psychiatrists conduct comprehensive outpatient evaluations and offer inpatient consultations and a memory disorders clinic. These services are designed to identify psychiatric illnesses across the spectrum, from mild to severe. Honoring Care Decisionspromotes and improves advanced care planning at DHMC , Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics, and in our communities.
