POSITION PURPOSE
The emergency department advanced practice practitioner (APP) provides high-quality, patient-centered medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergent conditions. Working collaboratively with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, the app evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients across the continuum of emergency care. The app is responsible for delivering evidence-based care that promotes positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional practice requirements.
MINIMUM MANDATORY
qualifications
Experience:
One (1) to three (3) years of emergency medicine experience preferred. Experience in urgent care, hospital medicine, critical care, family practice, or emergency medicine is strongly preferred. Demonstrated competency in emergency assessment and management of acute medical conditions.
Education:
Nurse Practitioner:
Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program.
Physician Assistant:
Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of emergency medicine principles, practices, and procedures. Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills. Ability to perform procedures consistent with privilege delineation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to function effectively in high-stress and rapidly changing environments. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency with electronic health record systems. Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. Preferred qualifications One (1) to three (3) years of emergency medicine experience preferred.
