Responsibilities Supervise veterinary technicians and support staff during your shift to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care Assist in performing complex veterinary procedures including anesthesia administration, radiology diagnostics, and laboratory work Oversee animal handling, restraint, and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff Monitor critical care cases, including emergency medicine and intensive care procedures such as vascular access and IV insertion Support diagnostic imaging procedures like X-ray and radiology diagnostics, ensuring proper operation of medical equipment Ensure aseptic techniques are maintained during surgeries and other invasive procedures to prevent infections Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary software and document all shift activities thoroughly Skills Extensive kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to manage diverse patient needs Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support clinical decision-making Hands-on experience with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, general anesthesia protocols, and sedation techniques Skilled in laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and laboratory work relevant to veterinary medicine Ability to handle dogs and other animals safely using proper restraint techniques; experience with equine handling is a plus Familiarity with medical equipment operation including radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, and surgical tools Strong client communication skills to explain treatments clearly and empathetically to pet owners Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and critical & intensive care practices for urgent cases This position is a paid role designed for passionate veterinary professionals eager to lead with energy and precision.
