Overview Dental Coordinator Join the Perio Specialist team as a Dental Coordinator, where your organizational skills, attention to detail, and compassionate approach will help us provide an exceptional patient experience. In this fast-paced role, you will coordinate appointments, maintain patient records, assist with treatment planning, and support our clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate has experience with Eaglesoft, dental insurance, treatment coordination, dental billing, and ADA/CDT procedure codes. Responsibilities Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Eaglesoft. Coordinate periodontal consultations, treatment appointments, and follow-up visits. Review and update patient information, medical histories, and dental records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits. Explain insurance benefits, estimated patient portions, deductibles, annual maximums, waiting periods, and frequency limitations. Submit dental insurance claims using the appropriate ADA/CDT procedure codes. Follow up on outstanding claims, denials, requests for additional information, and unpaid insurance balances. Post insurance payments and review Explanation of Benefits statements for accuracy. Present treatment plans and clearly explain treatment costs, insurance estimates, financing options, and payment arrangements. Collect patient payments and follow up on outstanding account balances. Prepare and submit dental pre-authorizations and monitor their status. Greet patients, answer telephone calls professionally, and assist with check-in and checkout. Maintain accurate documentation in patient charts and ensure treatment plans are current. Communicate effectively with doctors, clinical team members, referring dental offices, insurance companies, and patients. Protect patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and office policies. Assist with additional front-office and administrative responsibilities as needed. Requirements Previous dental front-office, scheduling, insurance, or treatment-coordination experience. Experience using Eaglesoft is strongly preferred. Knowledge of dental insurance verification, claim submission, payment posting, and claim follow-up. Familiarity with ADA/CDT dental procedure codes. Strong understanding of treatment plans, patient financial responsibilities, and dental terminology. Excellent communication, customer-service, and telephone skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy periodontal specialty office. Ability to communicate financial information clearly and compassionately. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a periodontal or dental specialty practice. Experience presenting comprehensive treatment plans. Experience with dental accounts receivable and collections. Knowledge of dental PPO plans, pre-authorizations, attachments, narratives, and claim appeals.
