Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch is seeking an experienced Veterinary Emergency Floor Manager to provide hands-on leadership and support for our 24/7 Emergency Department. This is an active, floor-based leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced emergency environment, enjoys developing veterinary professionals, and knows how to keep a team organized and moving efficiently while maintaining exceptional patient and client care. What You'll Do Provide direct leadership and support to emergency technicians, assistants, and support staff during assigned shifts Oversee daily ER floor operations, workflow, patient movement, and staff assignments Maintain appropriate staffing and adjust assignments based on patient volume and hospital needs Support the team during high-volume and critical patient situations Promote clear communication between doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service staff Help train, mentor, and develop team members Ensure hospital protocols, safety standards, cleanliness, and patient-care expectations are consistently followed Assist with employee feedback, documentation, and performance management Identify workflow challenges and work with hospital leadership to improve efficiency and team performance Lead by example and step in to assist on the floor when needed What We're Looking For Veterinary emergency experience Previous veterinary leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred Strong veterinary technical knowledge and understanding of emergency hospital workflow Ability to confidently lead a team in a busy, rapidly changing environment Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to provide clear direction while remaining approachable and supportive Strong accountability and follow-through Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful or critical situations Availability to work a schedule that supports the operational needs of a 24/7 emergency hospital Why VMC?
