Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Lead Veterinary Technician/Supervisor and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional animal care while leading and mentoring our dedicated veterinary support staff. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of veterinary technicians and support staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols. Assist with advanced veterinary procedures including anesthesia administration, vascular access, IV insertion, and animal restraint techniques. Support diagnostic imaging procedures such as radiology diagnostics and X-ray operations, ensuring accurate positioning and image quality. Oversee laboratory work including phlebotomy, veterinary laboratory testing, and sample processing to facilitate accurate diagnostics. Provide critical care support in emergency medicine settings, including monitoring anesthesia, managing critical patients, and assisting with surgical procedures. Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software systems, ensuring compliance with all documentation standards. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote client satisfaction and understanding. Experience Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal husbandry, emergency medicine, and critical & intensive care. Extensive kennel experience along with dog handling skills to manage various animal behaviors confidently. Demonstrated proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support accurate diagnostics and treatments. Hands-on experience operating medical equipment such as radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, and laboratory instruments. Knowledge of aseptic techniques essential for surgical assistance and maintaining sterile environments during procedures. Prior leadership or supervisory roles within a veterinary setting are highly preferred to guide team development effectively. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and diagnostic data management is required.
