Job Description

We're Growing! Rise & Shine Orthopedics is a growing independent pediatric orthopedic and sports medicine practice caring for kids from their first steps through competitive sports and college. Our office is busy, fast-moving, family-centered and fun. We have a small team, which means every person matters. We work hard, help each other, solve problems together and jump in wherever we're needed. We're looking for an experienced Medical Office Manager who wants to help us keep building something special. Who We Need First and foremost, we need a DOER. Someone who sees what needs to be done and does it. Someone who can multitask, prioritize on the fly and solve problems without waiting to be told what to do next. You'll lead our team, but this isn't a sit-behind-a-desk-and-delegate position. On a busy day, you may be troubleshooting a scheduling issue one minute and answering a phone, helping at the front desk or tracking down an authorization the next. We want an ultimate team player who is organized, dependable, positive and willing to jump in wherever needed. We value kindness, accountability, initiative, flexibility and respect. Drama, workplace politics, negativity, laziness and "that's not my job" attitudes aren't a fit for our team. What You'll Do
  • Day-to-day office operations and workflow
  • Staff coordination, scheduling, PTO and coverage
  • Staff training, cross-training and office procedures
  • Front desk and patient communication workflows
  • Appointment scheduling and clinic template oversight
  • Referral intake and tracking
  • Imaging, therapy and specialty referral follow-up
  • Insurance verification and prior authorization workflows
  • Accurate patient registration and insurance processes
  • AdvancedMD administrative workflows
  • DME processes and inventory
  • Office, medical and casting supply management
  • Vendor, equipment and facility needs
  • New employee onboarding
  • Weekly staff meetings and follow-through on action items
  • Identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions Most importantly, you'll help create systems that keep our office organized and allow our clinical team to focus on taking excellent care of kids. This is not a payroll or bookkeeping position. Our outside accounting professionals handle payroll, QuickBooks, bookkeeping and accounting. You'll Probably Love This Job If You…
  • Are naturally organized and genuinely enjoy getting things done
  • Can juggle multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
  • Stay calm and think on your feet when things get busy
  • Notice problems and fix them
  • Follow through without needing repeated reminders
  • Communicate clearly and directly
  • Are comfortable leading and holding people accountable
  • Enjoy improving systems and making things more efficient
  • Believe helping your teammate is part of your job
  • Bring solutions instead of excuses
  • Want your ideas and contributions to actually matter What We're Looking For Previous medical office experience is strongly preferred, especially experience with medical office management, staff supervision, EMR/practice-management systems, insurance authorizations, referrals, credentialing or specialty medical practices.
AdvancedMD, pediatric or orthopedic experience is a bonus, but we're happy to teach the right person the orthopedic side of what we do. Experience matters. Attitude, initiative, judgment and work ethic matter just as much. Schedule & Compensation 30-32 hours/week, primarily Monday-Thursday, approximately 8 AM-4 PM. Occasional Friday morning availability may be needed for staff meetings, training or special projects. $30-$35/hour based on experience, with the potential for the position to grow as our practice grows. Why Rise & Shine? We're building the kind of independent medical practice where families feel cared for, employees feel valued and people enjoy coming to work. We're small enough that your ideas matter and growing enough that there's always something new to tackle. Our tagline is "From first steps to full speed." We're looking for the right person to help our team keep moving forward. Want to Join Us? Send us your resume and tell us a little about yourself.
Please answer one question:
Tell us about a time you walked into a messy, inefficient or stressful situation at work, took ownership of it and made it better. What did you do? We're much more interested in learning how you think and work than reading a generic cover letter.
