Job Description

We are a family oriented private general dentistry practice in Cary, NC seeking a friendly, organized, and focused Dental Office Administrator to join our team. This is a front-desk position responsible for office administrative tasks, insurance functions, and very importantly, creating a positive patient experience. You will work closely with our wonderful office manager. Our office has a true "mom-and-pop" feel — low drama, supportive, and team-oriented. We're lucky to get to work with a great patient base, many who have been with us for years. Our patients are invested in their oral health and allow us to build lasting relationships and provide patient-focused conservative care. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, personable, and comfortable balancing patient communication, scheduling, insurance responsibilities, and day-to-day front-office operations. We leave our egos at the door and have a great time working together and with our patients. Responsibilities Manage and maintain the daily patient schedule, including making appointments and rescheduling appointments Communicate professionally and effectively with patients by phone, email, and office messaging systems Coordinate communication and referrals with dental specialists and other healthcare providers as needed Verify patient dental insurance benefits and eligibility Submit and follow up on dental insurance claims Post insurance EOBs and patient payments accurately and in a timely manner Monitor and respond to the patient messaging system Maintain accurate patient records and protect patient confidentiality Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and office privacy policies Assist with general front-office and administrative duties as needed Provide a welcoming, professional, and positive experience for every patient Qualifications Minimum 2 years of dental administrative/front-office experience preferred Dentrix experience is highly preferred Be coachable, adaptable, and approach the position with an open mind Strong understanding of dental insurance, benefits verification, EOBs, and claims Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy dental office environment Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team Comfortable working with Windows, Microsoft Office, etc. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance If you are looking for a welcoming office with an excellent team and appreciative patients to call home, we would love to hear from you!
